XBOX ADAPTIVE CONTROLLER

The Xbox Adaptive Controller personalizes your gaming input experience by tailoring it to you. Designed primarily to meet the needs of gamers with limited mobility, the controller features large programmable buttons and enables you to assign Xbox controller inputs (A, B, X, Y, etc.) to external switches, buttons, and joysticks to help make gaming more accessible on Xbox One and Windows. Additional external devices are required for game play (sold separately).

There are a couple drawbacks to this device mainly with set up and installation. It is recommended that you have someone with some technical know-how before you purchase this device. It is also recommended that you look over the setup instructions before you purchase.

Also please note that additional accessories are necessary to be able to play games. Also the more accessories you have the more buttons you will have access to. A Quadstick is a good start but you may also consider purchasing additional buttons that will allow you to have a more complete gaming experience. Mounting for a device that can be controlled by mouth or any additional buttons will also need to be additionally purchased.

QUADSTICK

The QuadStick is a mouth operated joystick that allows quadriplegics and other individuals with upper limb impairments the ability to control video games. It also can be used as a way to control a computer much like a mouse.

The Quadstick is described on its website as a game controller for quadriplegics but it can do much more. It allows anybody with mobility impairments the ability to control their gaming console or their computer.

Gaming:

  • The QuadStick can work directly with a PS3, PS4 or Nintendo Switch game console, or directly with Windows or Mac personal computers, and most Android devices. The QuadStick functions as a Game Controller, Mouse, Keyboard and Flash drive. Custom configuration files can be loaded into the Quadstick with a PC or Mac.

  • The QuadStick can also be used with the XBox One/360 consoles with the help of the CronusMax, or Brooks PS3/PS4 Super Converter crossover gaming device. Or an Xbox adaptive controller.

Computer controls:

  • The Quadstick can operate as a “mouth mouse” allowing an individual to access their computer much like they would a regular computer mouse. By moving the main directional unit on the Quadstick the cursor on the screen can be moved around and then by sipping or puffing into the device a left click and right-click can be executed.
